‘Removed in error’: LinkedIn draws fire for flagging pro-ICE post as hateful
“We’ll be deleting our account as a result,” the group says
A conservative advocacy group erupted in criticism this week after LinkedIn temporarily removed one of its posts supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement — a move the company later said was a mistake.
The incident has since sparked threats of a boycott from conservatives who argue that it is the latest example of bias on social media platforms.
On Jan. 27, the State Freedom Caucus Network (SFCN) published a post on both X and LinkedIn praising federal immigration enforcement and aligning with President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
In the post, the group wrote, “@DHSgov is carrying out the essential task of keeping our country safe” and claimed, “Biden let over 10M illegal aliens enter our states, many being violent criminals and pedophiles.” The message called for “collaboration with ICE and CBP to remove them,” asserting conservative support for strong enforcement.
When the post first appeared on LinkedIn, it was flagged as “hateful speech” and taken down, even though it remained on X.
SFCN shared a screenshot showing LinkedIn’s action and reacted.
“Apparently protecting children is ‘hate,’ but letting actual predators roam free is fine,” the group wrote, before adding: "@elonmusk doesn’t censor us, but @LinkedIn does! We’ll be deleting our account as a result.”
A LinkedIn spokesperson told Fox News the post was removed by mistake.
"This was removed in error, and we quickly corrected it," they said.
