House Democrats' campaign arm compares Trump to Scar from the 'Lion King'
The release comes the day of the presumptive GOP nominee is expected to meet with Republicans on Capitol Hill.
The campaign arm for House Democrats has compared former President Donald Trump to the character Scar from the Disney movie, "The Lion King."
A Thursday press release from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee featured a picture of the lion Scar and a caption that read "LIVE LOOK inside the House Republicans’ meeting with the felon."
The release comes as the presumptive GOP nominee met with House Republicans and is expected to meet with the Senate GOP, marking the first time Trump formally has met with lawmakers since he was convicted in New York on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
“Thirty four-count felon Donald Trump is addressing vulnerable House Republicans, disseminating his orders and scheming up their plans to gut Social Security, privatize Medicare, give massive handouts to the ultrawealthy, and pass a national abortion ban,” the release read.
After meeting with Republican lawmakers, Trump posted "[g]reat meeting with Republican Representatives. Lots discussed, all positive, great poll numbers!"
