Ex-Trump CFO Weisselberg expected to plead guilty to perjury without implicating former president
Weisselberg has already spent nearly 100 days incarcerated at the notorious Rikers Island jail.
Longtime former Trump CFO Allen Weisselberg is reportedly expected to plead guilty to perjury charges as early as Monday, but he is not expected to implicate his ex-boss, former President Donald Trump.
Weisselberg, 76, is expected to admit to lying on the witness stand in New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James' civil fraud trial against the former president, but he will not cooperate against Trump, according to The New York Times and ABC News. He may potentially admit to misleading investigators from the attorney general's office .
The terms of the plea are sealed until Weisselberg appears in court. He has already spent nearly 100 days incarcerated at the notorious Rikers Island jail after he pleaded guilty to tax evasion, and he risks being sent back to Rikers for more time after his latest expected plea.
