Georgia district attorney expected to unseal indictments against Trump in August, report

The Georgia prosecutor leading the investigation into whether former President Donald Trump criminally tried to change the outcome in the state on the results of his 2020 reelection bid is expected to possibly unseal indictments against him in August, according to the New York Times.

The Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis announced remote work days for the majority of her staff during the first three weeks of August and requested the Atlanta courthouse not schedule trials for part of that time as she prepares to bring charges in the inquiry.

Willis sent the judges a letter earlier this week with her request, according to the New York Times.

“Thank you for your consideration and assistance in keeping the Fulton County Judicial Complex safe during this time,” wrote Ms. Willis, the newspaper also reports.

Willis's office has been leading in an ongoing investigation over whether Trump and his allies illegally meddled in the 2020 election in Georgia.
