President Trump, in a short statement posted Thursday on the White House website, said that he "will always be committed to stopping endless wars."

"United States military troops in Afghanistan are at a 19-year low," the president said in the statement. "Likewise, Iraq and Syria are also at the lowest point in many years. I will always be committed to stopping the endless wars. It has been a great honor to rebuild our military and support our brave men and women in uniform. $2.5 trillion invested, including in beautiful new equipment—all made in the U.S.A."

The statement comes at a time when the president has been blocked from using platforms which he previously could have used to disseminate messages, such as Twitter and Facebook. Last week Twitter "permanently suspended" his @realdonaldtrump Twitter account and Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that a block on the president's Facebook and Instagram accounts would continue at least until after Joe Biden's inauguration.
