Trump after Colorado ruling: 'I'm not an Insurrectionist'
President Joe Biden, for his part, said Wednesday that there was "no question" Trump committed an insurrection in inciting the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Riot, but declined to weigh in on his possible ineligibility to return to the White House.
Former President Donald Trump on Thursday vehemently denied having engaged in an insurrection against the United States after the Colorado Supreme Court this week determined that he had done so and disqualified him from the ballot under the 14th Amendment.
The judges stayed their order until Jan. 4, 2024, and the Trump campaign has vowed to appeal to the Supreme Court. Trump pointed to his comments on that day in which he explicitly told his supporters to demonstrate peacefully.
"I’m not an Insurrectionist ('PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY'), Crooked Joe Biden is!!!" Trump posted on Truth Social.
