Former President Donald Trump said during his speech in Claremont, New Hampshire, on Saturday that if Republicans want to win in 2024, they need to be smart and unified.

Trump also took shots at some of his primary opponents, saying some of them "shouldn't be running because it's a joke."

“But you know, say what you want, but it takes courage. Sure, it does. It takes courage. It's not an easy thing to do,” he said, according to the Washington Examiner. “But the Republican Party, they have to get unified, and they have to get smart.”

Trump took a shot at former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, saying that he's "been at zero for the last three months."

Two major topics that the former president brought up were foreign policy and the cost of living.

“To me, peace through strength is not just a political slogan," Trump said. "It's actually a moral duty. And it's my commitment to you, the American people: we will not have World War III."

The U.S. has increased its presence in the Middle East following the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel by Hamas.

Trump also slammed President Joe Biden for the high cost of living and high inflation.

“You didn't have these problems three years ago,” he said. “We were the greatest economy in history. Now we have a mess. You'll end up in the Great Depression.”
