Former President Donald Trump criticized Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Monday over her creation of a special committee to investigate the events surrounding the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

"Nancy Pelosi is spending a great deal of time, effort, and money on the formulation of a Fake and highly partisan January 6 Committee to ask, 'what happened?'" Trump said in a statement. "Will Nancy investigate herself and those on Capitol Hill who didn't want additional protection, including more police and National Guard, therefore being unprepared despite the large crowd of people that everyone knew was coming?"

Trump's statement came after Pelosi last week rejected two Republican House members, Reps. Jim Banks and Jim Jordan, both chosen by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to serve on the select committee.

Currently, the committee is comprised of nine members, seven Democrats and two Republicans, those being Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney and Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger, both of whom have had contentious relationships with Trump.

In his statement Trump asked if Pelosi would "study the massive Voter Fraud that took place during the 2020 Presidential Election," arguing that voter fraud caused the crowd to pour into the Capitol in the first place. He also asked Pelosi if the committee would investigate ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter, which he said "played a role."

Trump finally asked if Pelosi would reveal "who killed Ashli Babbitt?," the unarmed woman who was shot and killed by a still yet to be named Capitol Police officer during the riot.
