Trump claims his portrait in Colorado state capitol intentionally 'distorted,' demands its removal
Trump said that the artist who did his portrait also did former President Barack Obama and made him look wonderful, but made him "worse."
President Donald Trump says a portrait of him at the Colorado state capitol is intentionally unflattering and that he wants it removed.
"Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before," Trump wrote Sunday night on TRUTH Social.
He is asking Democrat Gov. Jared Polis to remove it.
Trump said the artist who did his presidential portraits made Barack Obama look wonderful.
"She must have lost her talent as she got older," Trump also wrote.
The artist is Sarah A. Boardman, according to Fox News. The portrait was first unveiled in 2019 during Trump's first term.
Trump said he normally wouldn't complain about the portrait, but others in Colorado have complained so he was speaking on their behalf.
"I am speaking on their behalf to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis, who is extremely weak on Crime, in particular with respect to Tren de Aragua, which practically took over Aurora (Don’t worry, we saved it!), to take it down," Trump's post concluded. "Jared should be ashamed of himself!"
