Former President Donald Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington said Thursday the current plan is for Trump to surrender and go along with the legal process, but he will not drop out of the campaign.

"I think that is the plan," Harrington answered when asked on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show, if Trump would surrender. "He will do whatever he needs to do to fight back for the American people because this is what's at stake and he's clearly innocent. There's no crime. He will be proven innocent."

A Manhattan grand jury voted to indict former President Donald Trump over his alleged role in a payment to Stormy Daniels in 2016, making him the first former president to face criminal charges.

"He will fight this all the way, but he's not going to stop his campaign," she continued. "He's not going to stop running for the American people and getting his message out."

Harrington said that the 45th president is staying cheerful and is determined to fight for the American people.

"President Trump is always in good spirits," she stated. "He's not worried about himself. He's worried about the country."

Harrington noted Trump is being targeted because of his campaign promises, which were kept during his time in office.

"He's their number one threat," she said. "He would end the war in Ukraine. He would secure our border. He would get the dollar strong again and make us energy independent. They don't want that to happen. That's why they're doing this so outrageously."
