Former President Donald Trump will visit Asheville, North Carolina, next week to deliver remarks and tour sites that have been drastically impacted by Hurricane Helene, his campaign announced on Friday.

The visit will mark Trump's first time in Asheville since the hurricane, but he previously visited the city in August. Asheville is located in western North Carolina, which was hit exceptionally hard by the hurricane last month. The visit will take place on Monday, Oct. 21.

Vice President Kamala Harris already toured the area earlier this month, on Oct. 5, where she spoke with city officials and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell.

“I think that these moments of crisis bring out some of the best of who we could be and who we are,” she said during her visit, per The Hill.

The trip was squeezed into the former president's already busy schedule in North Carolina, which is considered a swing state for the 2024 elections. Trump is also slated to appear at events in Concord, and Greenville, North Carolina on Monday.
