Biden sets new goal of at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot to 70 percent of adults by July 4
Biden also said his administration plans to have 160 million Americans fully vaccinated by the Fourth of July.
President Biden announced Tuesday afternoon that he plans for his administration to have 70 percent of adults in the United States receive at least one COVID-19 dose by July 4.
"We're going to make it easier than ever to get vaccinated," Biden said from the White House.
Biden also said his administration plans to have 160 million Americans fully vaccinated by the Fourth of July.
Rough 35 million more adult Americans need to get their first shot to reach the 70% goal, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention figure.
The plan will direct local pharmacies to provide walk-in vaccinations without appointments, to make it easier for Americans amid a slowdown of those getting vaccinated.
