Russian military intelligence launching cyberattacks on NATO, EU: German intelligence
German intelligence accuses Russia of attacking critical infrastructure globally
Russian military intelligence has been carrying out cyberattacks on European Union and NATO countries, Germany's domestic intelligence agency warned Monday.
The intelligence agency, in a statement, accused the infamous Russian Unit 29155 of malicious activities targeting critical infrastructure globally, including in the U.S., Al Jazeera reported.
The agency issued a Joint Cybersecurity Advisory on Russian activities along with the FBI, NSA, U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and other international partners.
The advisory states that threat actors in Unit 29155 "are held responsible for computer network operations against global targets for the purposes of espionage, sabotage, and reputational harm."
