The Department of Education on Monday finalized its repeal of a Biden-era Title IX rule reforming sexual misconduct investigations on campus.

The move restores Trump's first-term rule and expands the protections a student accused of misconduct has in disciplinary proceedings, notably guaranteeing the right to call witnesses, have representation, and appear in a hearing, Politico reported.

“It just gives clarification to students, teachers, schools, parents — everyone now knows what the rule is and how everyone is going to abide by it,” Education Secretary Linda McMahon told Fox News over the weekend.

The final is set for formal publication on Tuesday and comes in the wake of a court decision striking down Biden-era rules that beefed up protections for transgender individuals.
