Actress who moved out of U.S. says country going to be ‘scary place’ after Trump win

Actress Eva Longoria revealed that her family has fully moved out of the U.S. and the 2024 election result sealed her decision to remain outside the country.
Longoria heavily campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost to President-elect Donald Trump.
“If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place,” she said, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Longoria addressed Trump’s 2016 win, saying she had “never been depressed” in her life before that time.
“It was like, ‘Does my vote really matter? Am I really making a difference?’” she said. “I was so untethered to the core of what I believe because I truly believed in my soul that the best person wins. And then that happened, and I was like, ‘Oh, wait. The best person doesn’t win.’”
Longoria described herself as “privileged” for being able to leave the country.
“I get to escape and go somewhere,” she said. “Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”
