President Joe Biden will officially receive the 2024 presidential nomination from the Democratic Party late this month before the party's national convention in Chicago, despite his rocky debate performance that resulted in calls from members of his own party to drop out of the race.
Biden is on track to receive enough delegates to be officially nominated virtually ahead of the in-person Democratic National Convention kicking off in Chicago on Aug. 19, according to sources close to the process referenced in a report.
Biden has faced calls to leave the race after his performance in the first presidential debate against former President Trump.
Biden has vowed to stay in the race.
