CNN cancels New Hampshire Republican debate following ABC News cancellation
Haley had said she would only participate in a debate if it were against Trump or Biden, leaving DeSantis as the only eligible candidate committed to the debate.
CNN is canceling the New Hampshire Republican presidential debate scheduled for Sunday after ABC News similarly called off its debate planned for Thursday.
With the debate canceled for Thursday, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley will join CNN for a town hall that evening in New Hampshire, the network said Wednesday.
A spokesperson for CNN separately said Wednesday that the network is "no longer moving forward" with the Republican debate after "only one qualifying candidate accepted our invitation to take the stage."
Haley had said she would only participate in a debate if it were against President Donald Trump or President Joe Biden. After Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis became the only GOP candidate committed to a debate, ABC News on Tuesday canceled its event.
The CNN debate was scheduled to occur two days before New Hampshire holds the first in the nation primary.
