Hobbs wins Democratic primary for governor in Arizona

Hobbs defeated Marco Lopez, a business consultant.

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs is the projected winner of the state’s Democratic primary for governor on Tuesday.

Hobbs defeated Marco Lopez, a business consultant. Aaron Lieberman earned votes but dropped out of the race in May.

Karrin Taylor Robson, founder of AZ Strategies, was leading in the GOP primary for governor heading into Wednesday. Former Vice President Mike Pence endorsed Robson. Former broadcast journalist Kari Lake, who former President Trump endorsed, was in second place with 57% of the votes counted. 

The Arizona GOP Senate primary was too close to call with 56% of the votes counted heading into the early hours of Wednesday. Blake Masters, who Trump endorsed, was leading the pack with Jim Lamon trailing by 4 points.
