A majority of American voters believes President Joe Biden has committed impeachable offenses but many don’t want Congress to begin proceedings against him, new polling shows.

In fact the number that believes impeachment is warranted has declined since spring even as explosive new revelations have surfaced from IRS in FBI whistleblowers and former business partners of Hunter Biden, according to the Rasmussen Reports survey released this weekend.

Overall, 52% of likely voters said they believed Biden “has committed high crimes and misdemeanors that would justify Congress impeaching him.” That includes 37% who declared that is “very likely.”

But only 38% believe Congress should start impeachment proceedings, down four points since May. Forty-seven percent p oppose impeachment, the poll found.
