MSNBC host Joy Reid: Democrats 'approaching panic' after Biden's 'extremely weak' debate performance
Reid says her Democratic Party sources think Biden seemed 'extremely feeble' on the debate stage next to Trump
MSNBC host Joy Reid said on Thursday night that her sources within the Democratic Party are "approaching panic" after seeing what they described as President Biden's "extremely weak" debate performance.
Reid said the universal reaction from her sources was that Biden seemed "extremely feeble" on the debate stage next to former President Trump.
Reid said the sources she was referring to are campaign operatives and "Obama world" contacts.
She added that Biden did not reassure or calm his party that he has the "stamina" and strength for another term.
"He did the opposite of that. He made them more panicked," she said.
CNN's John King went further than Reid, saying there is "aggressive panic" within the Democratic Party now.
"Right now, as we speak, there is a deep, a wide, and a very aggressive panic in the Democratic Party. It started minutes into the debate, and it continues right now. It involves party strategists. It involves elected officials," he said. "Some of those conversations include should we go to the White House and ask the president to step aside?"
