Sen. Mark Kelly brushes off criticism of Harris' border czar performance, says Arizona 100% winnable

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., brushed on criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris's handling of border issues as the Biden administration's "border czar" and said Arizona is 100% winnable for her in the November election.
President Biden put Harris in charge of southern border issues back in March 2021.
Kelly, who was on the shortlist for Harry' running mate, was asked if he thinks Harris can win Arizona despite the heavy criticism the Biden administration has received for problems at the border, such as the record numbers of migrant encounters.
"One-hundred percent. Here's the issue with the border: We had a bipartisan border security bill we negotiated with the White House so that means with the president and the vice president, Kamala Harris, over an extended period of time, Democrats and Republicans working together to solve this problem. And I think you know what happened," Kelly said during an interview at the Democratic National Convention.
"I know what happened. Donald Trump said to Republican senators they were not allowed to support that legislation. And he said it for one reason, and he was pretty straightforward about this. He said he doesn't want this problem solved. He just wants to be able to talk about it in this election, the most craven, craziest thing I've seen in my three and a half years in the Senate," he added.
