Trump blasts Ramaswamy as ‘not MAGA,’ unleashes ad portraying Biden White House as nursing home
Former president zeroed in on challenger in social posts just 48 hours before Iowa Caucus.
Former President Donald Trump on Saturday night leveled a withering attack on businessman and 2024 GOP rival Vivek Ramaswamy, calling him “very sly” and “not MAGA.”
Trump offered the assessment on his Truth Social platform, less than 48 hours before voters in Iowa become the first to cast ballots in the 2024 presidential race.
"A vote for Vivek is a vote for the 'other side' — don’t get duped by this. Vote for "TRUMP," Trump wrote. "Don’t waste your vote! Vivek is not MAGA."
For his part, Ramaswamy has generally been polite and complimentary toward Trump. But the former president suggested Saturday night it was an illusion.
“Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter, ‘the best President in generations,’ etc.," Trump wrote. "Unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks. Very sly."
Trump’s campaign also unleashed a new advertisement against Joe Biden, portraying the White House as a senior living facility.
“At White House senior living, our residents feel right at home. Our vibrant facility offers delightful activities and outings, round-the-clock professional care and exquisite house-made meals,” the ad proclaimed.
