Trump narrowly increases lead over Harris in southern battleground states, NYT-Siena College poll

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has gained a slight lead over Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris in three southern battleground states, according to new poll released Monday.

Trump, a former president, is leading Harris in the sunbelt battlegrounds of states of Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina, according to the latest New York Times-Siena College poll. 

The polls was conducted from Sept. 17-21 among 2,100 likley voters. 

in Georgia, which Trump lost to then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in 2020 by just under 12,000 votes, he now leads Harris 49-45%.

In Arizona, Trump leads Harris 50-45% in the new poll, after most previous polls having shown him trailed Harris by several points.

Trump won North Carolina in 2020 and has now slighted increased his lead over Harris in the state, compared to most previous polling. He leads Harris 49-47%, in the new poll.
