Trump says he will settle Ukraine war as president-elect before taking office
“Every time Zelensky comes to this country he walks away with $60 billion dollars. He’s the greatest salesman ever," Trump says
Former President Donald Trump at the CNN debate on Thursday night said he could settle the war in Ukraine before he takes office.
Trump argued that Russia's invasion of Ukraine would not have happened if he won a second consecutive term. He said President Biden's handling of the Afghanistan war inspired Russian President Vladimir Putin to follow through on the invasion of Ukraine.
"As President-Elect, I will have that war settled between [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky and Putin as president-elect before I take office," Trump said.
He also criticized Biden for authorizing more than $150 billion on the war in Ukraine.
“Every time Zelensky comes to this country he walks away with $60 billion dollars. He’s the greatest salesman ever.”
