Three people in New Mexico have died as a result of flash flooding, officials say.

The flood was the result of monsoon rains Tuesday in the southern region of the state.

The victims have been identified only as a man, a 4-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy in the village of Ruidoso, according to the Associated Press.
