A majority of U.S. voters believe that the Iran war was "not worth it," according to a recent survey.

Overall, 60% of voters in a Quinnipiac poll said the war was not worth it, compared to 34% who said it was. By party, 75% of Republicans said the conflict was worth it, compared to 17% who said it wasn't.

Democrats said it was not worth it by a 93% to 4% margin, while independents broke 66% to 29% in the same direction.

Notably, voters are pessimistic that President Donald Trump's Iran deal will hold, with 59% saying they were not confident in its success. Just 37% were confident it would succeed.

Sixty-one percent of voters overall expect Iran to eventually acquire a nuclear weapon.

Conducted June 18-22, the survey questioned 1,165 registered voters and has a margin of error of +/- 3.4%.
