Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves survives primary challenges, will face Democrat Brandon Presley
Presley ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
Mississippi Republican Gov. Tate Reeves is projected to defeat his Republican challengers and will face Democrat Brandon Presley in November as he seeks another term in office.
The Associated Press has projected Reeves to defeat primary challengers John Witcher and David Hardigree, claiming 74.5% of the vote as of press time.
Presley ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
The lieutenant governor's Republican primary remains uncalled, however. Incumbent Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann is currently leading challengers Chris McDaniel and Tiffany Longino with 53.0% of the vote. Democrat D. Ryan Grover secured his party's nomination running unopposed.
