Newsom to launch podcast with ex-NFL star Marshawn Lynch
Speculation about Newsom's presidential ambitions began well before the debate, however, though Newsom has repeatedly brushed such questions aside and backed Biden's candidacy.
Amid speculation that he could become the Democratic presidential nominee, Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., is launching a podcast with former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.
Entitled "Politickin'," the podcast will also Lynch's agent, Doug Hendrickson, and begin on July 15.
"Gavin Newsom like you’ve never heard him and Marshawn Lynch exactly how you’d expect him. Join them for Politickin’ each week for the conversations that need to be had," read the description from iHeartRadio.
Lynch began his NFL career as a Buffalo Bill, but went on to join the Seahawks and briefly played for the Oakland Raiders. He is nicknamed "Beast Mode."
Newsom, for his part, has emerged as a potential replacement for Biden in the wake of a widely panned performance in the CNN presidential debate last week that has reignited concerns about the president's fitness for office.
