More Americans report experiencing bitter cold temperatures: AP poll

More Americans are reporting that they have experienced bitter winter weather, according to a new Associated Press poll.
About 6 in 10 U.S. adults said they have dealt with freezing cold and/or severe winter storms within the past five years, according to the new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
AP reported that the 6 in 10 figure represents an increase from an AP-NORC poll conducted one year ago in February 2025.
In that poll, about half of U.S. adults had said they were personally impacted by extreme cold weather.
