Most Americans say that the Biden administration is doing well in handling the investigation into the president's handling of classified documents, according to a new poll.
Overall, 16% of Americans say the Biden administration is handling the probe "very well" while 38% say he is handling it "well," putting the matter at a 54% approval rating, according to a CBS News/YouGov survey conducted less than one month after documents from Joe Biden's time as vice president were discovered in his home and former office.
However, more Americans think Biden is handling the investigation "very badly" than those who think he is handling it "very well" at 22% to 16%. When considering those who say the administration is handling it "somewhat badly," 45% of Americans disapprove of Biden's response.
This poll was conducted with 2,005 U.S. adults from Jan. 25-27, 2023, and has a margin of error of 3%.
