RFK Jr. to announce VP pick in late March
Biden is expected to stick with Vice President Kamala Harris as his running mate, though Trump's choice remains the subject of intense speculation.
Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will announce his choice of running mate on March 26 during an event in Oakland, Calif.
Kennedy initially launched his campaign as a Democratic primary challenge to President Joe Biden, though he ultimately opted for an independent run. Earlier this week, Kennedy confirmed he was considering New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura as running mates.
The ticketed event will cost $24 for adult attendees, The Hill reported.
"This historic event will reaffirm the key principles of the Kennedy campaign of restoring the middle class, ending the chronic disease epidemic, unwinding the war machine, and unraveling corporate capture of our government agencies," the campaign stated.
Kennedy currently places third in a hypothetical five-way lineup with Trump, Biden, the Green Party's Jill Stein, and independent Cornel West. In that matchup, the RealClearPolitics polling average assigns him 12.4% support.
Both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening were projected to win enough delegates to claim their parties' nominations. Biden is expected to stick with Vice President Kamala Harris as his running mate, though Trump's choice remains the subject of intense speculation.
