Tim Scott raises more than $6 million in second quarter for presidential bid
Scott's $6.1 million haul falls well short of the $35 million and $20 million that leading candidates Trump and DeSantis brought in, respectively, yet campaign staff appear confident that the take would help propel him greater polling success.
South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott raised $6.1 million for his presidential campaign in the second quarter of 2022.
That figure includes 53,000 unique donors and more than 75,000 contributions, The Hill reported. The campaign has roughly $21 million in cash on hand.
Polling data suggests Scott is in fifth in the race for the Republican nomination. Earning 3.3% support in the RealClearPolitics polling average, he trails former President Donald Trump, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

"As he prepares to take the debate stage, it is clear he not only is the best messenger and most consistent conservative in the race, but also has the resources to win," wrote campaign manager Jennifer DeCasper in a memo that The Hill reviewed.
Haley's campaign, meanwhile, brought in $7.3 million.
