3 people killed in Pennsylvania charter bus crash, police say
At least 28 people were sent to Hershey Medical Center after the crash, a spokesperson said.
Three people are dead after a charter bus carrying up to 50 people collided with a vehicle on a Pennsylvania interstate, state police said Monday.
The crash occurred around 11:50 p.m. Sunday during heavy rain near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania State Police said, according to local outlet ABC 6.
At least 28 people were sent to Hershey Medical Center after the crash, hospital spokesperson Scott Gilbert said.
A Honda CRV was stopped in traffic in the rightlane of the interstate while the bus attempted to turn right in the right lane, another local ABC affiliate reported.
The bus left the north side of the roadway and entered into the grass, striking an embankment and turning over onto its side. The roof of the vehicle struck the rear of the Honda, officials said.
The bus trip began in New York. Officials did not say where the bus was traveling to and the names of the deceased have not been released.
