Trump appoints Chad Mizelle to serve as chief of staff at the DOJ
During Trump's first administration, Mizelle served as the Chief of Staff at the Department of Homeland Security.
President-elect Donald Trump announced Saturday that Chad Mizelle would serve as chief of staff at the Department of Justice.
"I am pleased to announce that Chad Mizelle will serve as Chief of Staff at the Department of Justice, where he will work with our wonderful Attorney General Nominee, Pam Bondi," Trump wrote in an emailed statement.
Initially, Trump appointed former Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz to serve as attorney general. Gaetz withdrew from the nomination, resulting in Trump later picking Bondi for the position.
During Trump's first administration, Mizelle served as chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security.
"Chad is a MAGA warrior, who will help bring accountability, integrity, and Justice back to the DOJ," Trump's post continued.
He concluded by congratulating Mizelle and his family. "Congratulations to Chad, his wife Kathryn, a GREAT Judge who I appointed, and their children!"
