Trump doubles down on claims of Harris flipping racial ID: 'Stone cold phony'
Trump initially made the remarks on Wednesday at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention, saying "I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black."
Former President Donald Trump has doubled down on suggestions that Vice President Kamala Harris had opted to begin identifying as a black woman over her past expressions of Indian heritage.
Trump initially made the remarks on Wednesday at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention, saying "I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black... So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”
The remarks drew headlines and backlash, but Trump himself has stood his ground and shared several instances of Harris previously highlighting her Indian background.
Later on Wednesday, he posted a video of Harris discussing her Indian background with actress Mindy Kalling.
"Crazy Kamala is saying she’s Indian, not Black. This is a big deal. Stone cold phony. She uses everybody, including her racial identity!" he said.
"Thank you Kamala for the nice picture you sent from many years ago! Your warmth, friendship, and love of your Indian Heritage are very much appreciated," he posted in on Thursday, including a photo of what he claims to include Harris.
