Trump signs bill to end partial shutdown after narrow House vote
Trump urged the House to approve the plan after the Senate passed it last week in order to minimize the length of the partial shutdown.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed legislation to end the partial government shutdown after the House narrowly passed the package of bills the same afternoon.
The package includes five of the six remaining appropriations bills and funds the Department of Homeland Security until Feb. 13, according to The Hill.
Trump urged the House to approve the plan after the Senate passed it last week in order to minimize the length of the partial shutdown. The lower chamber obliged in a 217-214 vote.
The Hosue and Senate will next discuss the DHS funding package, with Democrats hoping to securing concessions on immigration enforcement.
