Vance takes victory lap after Walz debate: 'I feel bad for him'
The Ohio Republican went on to excoriate Vice President Kamala Harris for promising to implement policy changes on her first day in office, despite already working in the White House.
Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance on Wednesday took a victory lap after polls and pundits declared him the victor of Tuesday evening's debate with Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn.
"I gotta be honest, I feel a little bad for Governor Walz," Vance said during an event in Auburn Hills, Mich. "And the reason I feel bad for him is because he has to defend the indefensible, and that is the record of Kamala Harris."
Vance and Walz faced off on CBS News Tuesday evening in what was set to be the only vice presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle. Panels and pundits narrowly declared Vance the winner.
The Ohio Republican went on to excoriate Vice President Kamala Harris for promising to implement policy changes on her first day in office, despite already working in the White House.
"And think about this, for the past eight weeks. Kamala Harris, who never won a Democrat primary vote around the country, saying that she is, on day one, going to tackle the affordability crisis that's making it hard for you to afford groceries, housing and everything else," Vance said.
"She says, on day one, we're going to make prices lower for American consumers. And on day one, she says, we're going to tackle the instability and conflict all over the world," he continued. "Well, Kamala Harris, day one was 1400 days ago. What the hell have you been doing that whole time?"
