Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday directed two state agencies to investigate the potential misuse of taxpayer money in one program, Texas’ Child Care Services Program (CCSP).

The judge also asked for prosecutors to provide additional information about the continuing use of an out-of-state jury in the case.
The charges come one day after he was arrested in the Bahamas.
The House expelled him in December 2023 following a damning Ethics Committee report.
He was remanded without bail Friday and his court date is scheduled for August 1.
