“Regrettably, the decision may end up fueling opposition and empowering climate policy critics like incoming President Donald Trump," wrote Dean Florez, a member of the California Air Resources Board that just passed tighter requirements for the state’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
The charges add fuel to the debate over China-connected entities building or owning land close to sensitive military sites.
Currently, there are nearly 600 EV charging stations in Wisconsin and many are at private businesses like hotels, car dealers, restaurants and gas stations.
A reliable charging infrastructure is an important piece of a complex puzzle. As the number of charging station installations increases, so do the challenges involving their operation and maintenance.
The lithium-ion batteries were charging when they caught fire, and the department is unable to respond to calls two months after the blaze.
In order to make that transition, cities will have to invest heavily in green infrastructure, like charging stations and batteries, or staffing electrical engineers.
Per a state law, the sale and registration of fossil fuel vehicles made in 2030 or after will be illegal in Washington, but a study shows charging infrastructure won't make the mandated transition to EVs feasible.
