'Today' co-host Hoda Kotb announces will leave NBC morning show early next year

Kotbe has co-hosted the program with Savannah Guthrie since 2017.

NBC "Today" show's Hoda Kotb announced Thursday that leaving her position as co-host early next year.

She has co-hosted the program with Savannah Guthrie since 2017.

“It was time for me to turn the page at 60,” Kotb said in announcing her departure on the show.

Beyond the age issue, Kotb said want to spend more time with her young children a factor.

She also the network's 10 a.m. “Hoda & Jenna” talk show.

She called the choice to step down the “hardest decision of her life.” 

Kotb has two young daughters whom she adopted, according to CNN

She joined NBC in 1998 as a correspondent on the “Dateline” newsmagazine.
