"They had no intention of really eliciting information from Steve Bannon. What they wanted to do and what they accomplished was they wanted to put what they viewed as the head of the MAGA movement in jail." Former Federal Prosecutor Bob Castello said that the prosecution of Steve Bannon was a politically motivated effort by the January 6th Committee and the U.S. Attorney's Office to target a key figure of the MAGA movement rather than a genuine pursuit of information. Castello added he believes the court will ultimately dismiss the case entirely.
