CDC warns of summer mpox surge, urges high-risk adults to get second dose

Officials for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a warning on Thursday urging gay, bisexual, and other high-risk adults to get a second dose of the mpox vaccine. A recent outbreak in Chicago has added to growing concern that there could be a resurgence in the virus, formally known as monkeypox, spreading this summer. CDC officials said only one in four high-risk Americans are fully vaccinated against mpox.
