Federal Reserve announces additional interest rate hike
The Federal Reserve announced an additional rate hike of .75% at Wednesday's FOMC press conference. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell indicated, "My colleagues and I are acutely aware that high inflation poses significant hardship as it erodes purchasing power especially for those least able to meet the higher costs of essentials like food, housing, and transportation."
