Greece: At least 16 migrants dead in shipwreck

At least 16 migrants dead in shipwreck off Greek island of Lesbos. The death toll after two boats carrying migrants sank in Greek waters sunk has risen to 16, Greece's Coast Guard said. The bodies of 16 women had been recovered near the eastern island of Lesbos after a dinghy carrying about 40 people sank, the Coast Guard said, and nine people have been rescued. A second search and rescue operation is also underway several hundred kilometers to the west, near the island of Kythira, where a sailboat carrying about 95 migrants hit rocks and sank late Wednesday, according to the Coast Guard. Officials said 80 people have been rescued.
