Rep. Tim Burchett says FEMA funding should be handled directly by the states

Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) suggests FEMA federal funding should be allocated directly to the states from the federal government. “I would also caution folks to remember too that FEMA is not...Constitutionally sound. It’s not mandated by the Constitution," he says. "When we start talking about moving the funding around for this organization, I think we ought to seriously look at its management structure and that it should possibly just be a flow through for the states to receive these funds and let them handle it how they know best."
