At least 36 people in Hong Kong have died in a fire that spread across seven high-rise apartment buildings, according to news reports Wednesday.

The city’s fire service says at least 15 others have been injured and others are still trapped in the building, according to the Associated Press. 

The blaze started at midday and has continued into the night.

About 700 people were evacuated to temporary shelters.
