The death toll has reportedly risen to 75 in the Hong Kong high-rise apartment complex fire.

The fire is one of the deadliest in the city's modern history, according to the Associated Press. 

Dozens have reportedly been rescued in the fire that started Wednesday.

How many people are missing or trapped remains unclear. But Hong Kong leader John Lee said Thursday that contact had been lost with 279 people, the wire service also reports.
