Man arrested after stabbing in London, 11-year-old victim in hospital
Authorities said the incident was not being handled as terrorism-related.
London’s Westminster Police arrested a man on Monday after a stabbing occurred in London's Leicester Square, which put two people in the hospital with injuries, including an 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman.
Authorities said the incident at Leicester Square, a tourist attraction, was not being handled as terrorism-related.
A security guard said he attempted to save the woman and girl as they were attacked, according to a CNN report.
“I jumped on him, held the hand in which he was (carrying) a knife, and just put him down on the floor and just held him and took the knife away from him,” the guard said.
He also said that two people helped him hold the attacker down until police arrived.
