Iran threatens attacks on 'tourist destinations' worldwide in retaliation for US-Israel airstrikes
The threats also renewed concerns that Iran will use militant or terror attacks beyond the Middle East as a pressure tactic to end the war.
Iran on Friday threatened recreational and tourist sites worldwide – in response to the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes that began Feb. 28.
Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, Iran’s top military spokesman, said “parks, recreational areas and tourist destinations” around the world won’t be safe for Tehran’s enemies, according to the Associated Press.
The threats also renewed concerns that Iran will use militant or terror attacks beyond the Middle East as a pressure tactic to end the war.
With little information coming out of Iran, it's unclear how much damage strikes have inflicted on the country's arms and nuclear or energy facilities.
However, in response to statements out of the U.S. and Israeli that such facilities are badly damaged, Iran also insisted Friday that it was still building missiles.
