Former GOP President George W. Bush said Wednesday that Iran's influence is dangerous to Middle East stability and world peace.

Bush made his comments Wednesday on Fox News while promoting his book "Out of Many, One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants."

He also spoke amid a deadly, 10-day-long fight between Israel and the leaders of Hamas, an Iran-funded military group.

Hamas, which supports Palestinians in Israel, has launching over 3,500 rockets into Israel from the Gaza Strip, while Israel launches air strikes on the bordering territory.

"I think the best approach with regard to Iran is to understand that their influence is dangerous for world peace, that they are very much involved with extremist movements in Lebanon and Syria and Yemen, and they are aiming to spread their influence," Bush said.

Bush also argued that any deal with Iran has to not only focus on their nuclear capabilities but also to "keep in mind the dangers of an aggressive Iran to our allies."
